TAKE3 FOR THE SEA EXCURSION

To celebrate Sea Week & Clean-Up Australia Day we teamed up with Take3, an award-winning Australian charity on a mission to raise awareness of the impact plastic pollution has on marine life and the environment. Take3 inspires simple actions to rid the oceans of plastic pollution.

Take3’s early childhood educational program teaches children about the impact of plastic on our oceans using storytelling, song and play. Our preschoolers learnt about sea life, plastic pollution and the different types of plastic in the sea as well as what they can do to help. We then headed to our local beaches to put all that knowledge into action with a Beach Clean-Up.

Activities like this help children learn about sustainability and the world around them. Putting learning into fun and relatable activities fosters a sense of responsibility, ownership and achievement. It also gives children opportunities for creative expression and allows them to practise their problem-solving skills.
